Please Pray with Us (Bologna Prayer Chain)

nettuno1Here we go again. And I can’t wait!
There are over 100,000 students at the University of Bologna. They bear a striking resemblance to the ones you see scattered around the cities in which most of you live. Laughter and loud conversations echo loudly in piazzas around town. They carry backpacks heavily laden with books, they travel in pairs thoughtfully engaged in conversation, they contemplate sleeping later and skipping class. There is one enormous difference, however. When asked, most of these students will tell you they have no hope for the future. No hope for jobs, no hope for success, no hope for a better world for their children, no hope in eternity. They are students, with no hope. The apathy here is suffocating.

We often hear it said in Christian circles that we believe God for the impossible, but how often do we ask Him for the impossible? We are doing just that.

Last year our ministry asked our prayer and financial partners to join us in praying fervently during the month of March.  We saw so much fruit in this time that we are asking all of you to join us in praying around the clock in the month of March again for these students at the University of Bologna. That is right…..in 15 minutes increments, 24 hours a day, for ALL 31 days. We are believing God for the impossible, and we are asking you to stand with us. There is no more beautiful thing than to see the body of Christ united in prayer, desperate to see Him move. We are desperate for these students to know the hope that does not disappoint. Will you be desperate with us?

We partner with Agape Italia, the Italian arm of CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), and all together we are specifically dedicated to ministry on the campus of the University of Bologna and a new outreach to university students in Milan. Each of us is asking supporters to sign up for time slots that will eventually create a chain of prayer covering the entire month of March.  Nic and I are responsible for finding prayer supporters for the hours of 6AM-7AM and 3PM-4PM (Central Time). Each hour is split into 15 minutes segments meaning 4 segments per hour x 2 hours per day x 31 days = 248 opportunities to pray for Bologna. If the earnest prayer of a righteous man has great power, just imagine what will happen when the the University of Bologna, the oldest university in the world and the home to nearly 100,000 students, is covered in prayer every minute of every day for an entire month.
Please let us know if God is moving you to pray. You can take up the same time slot everyday for the whole month, you can take up the same time slot once a week, however God is moving you to be a part of this effort. We can be reached via email (thehannahs1@mac.com), Facebook, Twitter (@revivalinitaly) or simply as a reply to this post. If you choose to pray you will be provided a link that will be constantly updated, in real time, with prayer requests throughout the month.
“….The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years! Then, when he prayed again, the sky sent down rain and the earth began to yield it’s crops.”~ James 5:16-18

I didn’t receive a notification about this via email, and I had turned off notifications on the FB page except from friends (I get so, so many). I will pray every morning between 6 and 6:30. Saturday is the day I already “pray for Hannahs in Bologna.” (An Outlook reminder pops up on my desktop.) Sometimes I am overwhelmed with “notifications” – I am so glad our Father doesn’t get annoyed with pop-up prayers!

    There Brothers and Sister!
I’m Edo form Hungary. My mom is very ill long time ago. doctors said in 2002 that she has just about 1 year left here. But my mom faith is very strong and we knew that Lord can help us. He is our everything. But my mom situation is vrey wors and she is dying now, so I’d like to ask a prayer chain for her! Our all faith is in our God. We know that he is the only one who can help her! THank you very much! I wishing all the best of you all in the God. And i am very sorry about my English. I am just a beginner. Yours sincerely: Edina Füstös from Hungary.
